COVID-19 Safety Policies & Procedures

Dresher Physical Therapy Re-Opening Policies & Procedures

Dear Patients,

I hope this message finds you well as we all continue to deal with the COVID-19 public health crisis.

Dresher PT has made the decision to begin the gradual process of re-opening our clinics to care for our patients. As we are considered “essential healthcare providers” both by Pennsylvania state and federal guidelines, we plan to our resume services with a focus on maximal safety as outlined by the CDC and state and local health officials.

Beginning Monday May 11th 2020, our Ft. Washington and Blue Bell clinics will be opening to care for our existing clients, as well as accepting new clients who wish to begin their physical therapy.

UPDATED POLICIES & PROCEDURES:

Staff Policies and Procedures effective May 11th, 2020:

  1. All employees of DPT will wear masks while in the office. Clinical staff will wear gloves on patient request when performing manual therapy. Patients may, of course, request to avoid manual therapy if that is their preference.
  2. All staff will be screened daily on entering the clinic (temperature and symptom screen)
  3. Staff will continue our rigorous hand-washing and sanitizing procedures.
  4. All treatment tables and equipment will be cleaned between each patient and high-touch surfaces will be cleaned multiple times during the day. A professional cleaning also occurs at the end of each business day.
  5. Staff will adhere to social distancing practices within the clinic and waiting room. In addition, clinical staff will divide treatment areas with medical curtains as indicated.
  6. We will continue to take advantage of our multiple private rooms as requested or as necessary.

PATIENT POLICIES AND PROCEDURES EFFECTIVE MAY 11th, 2020:

  1. Your temperature will be taken on entry and you may answer a short series of health screening questions. If you have any respiratory or gastrointestinal symptoms or other signs of illness on the day of your appointment, we would expect that you call our office and reschedule for a time when you are feeling entirely better.
  2. Patients will be required to wear a mask or other face covering (which they must supply themselves)  immediately upon entering and during the entirely of their rehab session.
  3. Purell your hands immediately on entry to the clinic. We invite you to bring a supply of your own, though we do have multiple stations where Purell is available for use during your rehab session.
  4. Our waiting area will be kept completely empty of any guests or visitors that are not active patients.
  5. We will be eliminating the use of our water coolers to further reduce the chance of transmission.
  6. We ask that patients do NOT enter the clinic early for their appointment. Patients may wait safely in their car until their appointment time, and then they may enter the building.

We look forward to caring for all of our patients in need and thank you for your patience and understanding as we implement these new safety procedures. The safety of all patients, employees and the community at large must continue as our top priority.

With deep gratitude,
Matt Seabrook, PT and the entire DPT Team
